Domestic Witch (with gifts...)

As if there was another reason to check out today's site, you also can win something! A beautiful rose quartz set of runes (with instructions!).

Domestic Witch is a blog I have found within the past few months & simply adore! Although I don't have any kids myself, I enjoy reading how she is homeschooling with an edge. Also the post on depression today was DEAD ON for me.

She is just one of those people who is kind enough to allow us a glimpse inside her unique mind & frankly I adore it. :) I love the way she is "weaving magic into domestic life"!

here kitty, kitty

OK so I ADORE Halloween. and I ADORE my pets. Somehow the two just don't tend to mess very well. I have been lucky enough to have two dogs that seemed to get a kick out of putting on a costume once in a while, but then again I have NEVER been able to get them to wear anything on their heads. Cats, well the two I had growing up let me know under no uncertain terms exactly what they thought of me dressing them into anything festive. I got the scratches to make sure the point it home.

So when I came across today's site & almost spit out my morning tea! Kitty Wigs! too funny & again I am kinda glad I'm not a cat owner. I love 'em, but I might be tempted to try again for dressing up kitty! :)

Polyvore love!

So I have a bit of an addiction. Its playing with LOADS of clothes I could never afford. In addition to the higher end stuff there is actual affordable things and many, many, many of them on Polyvore.

You just mix up accessories and clothes to make sets or outfits or just artsy designs.

I could do this for hours... & do at times.

Well low & behold I found out one of the companies that I used their accessories in a few of my sets has featured my sets ON THEIR WEBSITE!!! So I have to give love to Amocacushi Boutique.

Check out the bottom of the page. There you will find my designs like these...

Its my party & I do what I want to

PARTY ~ PARTY ~ PARTY!

ok so I might not be having a party, but I will be having at least a cupcake, a candle (or a few) & a wish soon. IF I was having a party, I would want fellow blogger Kara to help me plan it.

I love all the pictures & ideas from today's site, which happens to be her blog, Kara's Party Ideas!

Happily ever after?

I came across these photos by Dina Goldstein & they have struck a cord.

Maybe there was a certain darkness behind those dreams. The smiles hid the unhappiness that sometimes reality brings.

Like how in modern times Belle would have to take some drastic measures to stay the Beauty.

Anyway today I give you a new look at the fairy tales. The Fallen Princesses collection.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes, I want a lottay! mmmm.

So fall is upon us. I know this since I had my first of what I hope is many, many, many of Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Basically it was like this...

I waited to get in my car before I could taste it. Every time it got close to my mouth I inhaled the divine scent and about passed out I was in such bliss. MMMM. LOVE IT!

What is it about this decadent drink. I take mine as a grande, with soy milk and real whipped cream. Perfection.

Every year my parents take at least one trek to the mountains to see the leaves on the mountains. While I remember these trips as a child, it was more about "yeah, its more colored leaves, whopidy do. Nooooooow why aren't we moving?" I tended to finish a good book while we waited in traffic. So I haven't been on one of these trip in a long time. Maybe I should since I know as an adult it would be different now that I can appreciate the miracle.

So today's site is a virtual trek to the mountains I spent several moments of Numbered Listmy childhood in, the Great Smokies. It really is a beautiful place & I have been back, just not during leaf turning season.

& to think I wondered why they were called the Great Smoky Mountains? Just takes looking at them one time in the morning light to see why. <3

So that's why the economy is blown!

So today I listened to a podcast discussing how most paper money in America has traces of cocaine on it. (no wonder the world is all wacky!) I had to wonder if there was much truth REALLY to the claims they were making. So I checked it out on Snopes.com! Great site to check out those rumors & urban myths. Sadly its true!

So what I am really wondering is how my bird is doing home alone right now. I got ready looking like a pirate this morning with a green parrot on my shoulder! He/she is just too sweet! I'm smitten to the core with Binx!!

Who wouldn't be? ;)

BirdBreath

Last night was one of those special nights like no other. I got to bring Binx home!!!

Binx is a rescued Peach Fronted Conure, formerly known as Peaches. Seem like too common a name for this beauty, so new life, new name. Plus I'm not big on naming pets after food!

The link for today is Bird Breath. There you can find a bunch of funny cartoons starring birds! Enjoy!

Life is a bowl of cherries...

I am so giddy about Monday's surprise. How will I make it through the weekend?

So weird how such moments can change life. I was depressed about my uncle, but I am more at peace with everything now. (who knows what I will feel when I am by his bedside this weekend) Now I am dare say HAPPY about the things to come.

So on to today's site which amazing enough isn't about birds, but is called Rare Bird Finds!

The stuff on here borders on making me laugh to HEY I think it could be cool to actually have that!

So have fun exploring.

This cherry pitter cracks me up!

Parrots' Bill of Rights

1. GET TO KNOW ABOUT PARROTS BEFORE YOU BRING ME HOME - I am not a domesticated pet like a dog or cat. I still have the spirit of the jungle in me. I have special needs, which you may find hard to fill. Please don’t learn these too late for my well-being. And please don’t acquire one of my cousins wild from the jungle - it will jeopardize his survival and well-being, and that won’t be a party for you either!

2. GIVE ME THE LARGEST HOME POSSIBLE - I am used to flying through rainforests or savannas. I have given up this great gift for your pleasure. At the very least, give me enough room to flap my wings and exercise. And I need toys for my amusement and wood to chew - otherwise, I might confuse your Home with the forest and its trees.

3. GIVE ME A NUTRITIOUS DIET - I need a wide variety of fresh and nutritious foods, even if they take time to prepare. I cannot survive on seeds alone. Take time to learn what my needs, and preferences are.

4. LET ME HAVE A ‘SOCIAL LIFE’ - I am a gregarious flock animal - but I am not one of you. I need lots of socialization to learn how to act with you, and with my siblings. I also need to have adequate quality time with you every day - no matter what your schedule or other needs are. I am a living, feeling creature. Above all, I need to be able to have complete trust in you, and count on your predictability in looking after me - every day.

5. LET ME BE CLEAN - I may like to drop food or even throw it, but I need meticulous cleanliness to be healthy. My skin itches without frequent showers, the barbs of my feathers won’t seal if they become oily and, worst of all, I may become ill if my food or water is not always sanitary.

6. I NEED MY OWN DOCTOR - You may not understand my physiology and therefore you may not recognize it early on when I get sick. And it may be too late when you do, because I hide my illnesses (remember what I said about my being an animal of the jungle, where there are lots of predators). And I need an avian vet - a specialist (no HMOs for me please). If you can’t afford one, perhaps you shouldn’t have taken me home.

7. PLEASE DON’T PUNISH ME - Just as I don’t always understand your peculiarities, you may not understand mine. I don’t TRY to get in trouble - remember, a house is not the jungle. If I do screw up, don’t yell at me and never hit me. I have sensitive ears and I may never trust you again if you strike me. Hands are sometimes scary things to us (why in the world would you not be zygodactylous like us?). Even more importantly, we don’t learn by punishment. We are gentle creatures who only strike back to protect ourselves; we learn through patience and love.

8. SPEAK MY ‘LANGUAGE’ - I know you get upset with me when I knock over my water bowl, throw food, scream or pluck my feathers. I don’t do these to annoy you - I am probably trying to tell you something (perhaps that I am hurting, lonely, or sad.). Learn to speak MY (body) language. Remember that I, alone of all creatures on this planet, learn to speak yours!

9. SEE ME AS AN INDIVIDUAL - I am a unique and feeling being. No two of us are alike. Please don’t be disappointed in me if I don’t talk like you wanted, or can’t do the tricks that your friend’s parrot can do. But if you pay close attention to me (and I always empathize with you, whether you know it or not), I will show you a unique being who will give you so much more than talking and playing. Give me a chance to show you who I am; I think you’ll find the effort worth it. And remember - I am not an ornament; I do not enhance ANY living room décor. And I am not a status symbol - if you use me as such, I might nip at your up-turned nose!

10. SHARE YOUR LOVE WITH ME - Above all, please remember that you are my Special Person. I put all my trust and faith in you. We parrots are used to being monogamous (no bar-hopping for us!). So please don’t go away for long periods or give me away - that would be a sadness from which I may never recover. If that seems to be asking a lot, remember - you could have learned about my needs before bringing me home. Even having a baby or taking a new job isn’t a fair reason - you made a commitment to me FIRST. And if you think that you must leave me because you might die, provide for me forever after you leave. I may live to a ripe old age but I can’t provide for myself. Remember I’m in a small cage amongst people who are not of my blood.

11. YOUR RIGHTS - You have lots of rights, but I can only assure one. And that is, if you treat me the way I described above, I will reward you with unwavering love, humor, knowledge, beauty, dedication - and a sense of wonder and awe you haven’t felt since you were a child. When you took me home, you became my Flock Leader, indeed, my entire universe - for life. I would hang the moon and stars for you if I could. We are one in Heart and Soul.

& did you know I have official taken the first baby step to starting up my own side business! Its a small step, but movement non-the less!

http://wilmington.craigslist.org/pet/1297032501.html

Feel free to give me any advice, tips or feedback you might have!?! I would welcome it all.

Next step is getting up a website to let people know more about me, of course getting some experiences under my belt to get a better feel for what is needed & the market. The finalizing (ok.. doing) the business plan & getting all the licenses, bonding & getting incorporated. I don't think I will be quitting the day job anytime soon, but it would be great fun & hopefully a tad extra to put towards the bills!

Oh if my dreams take off.....

Read Me... please?

Ok today is part self promotion, part information.

First check out this article on Being Happy Even When You Are Broke.

Read it? Great, now feel free to pass it on, click on it again & again....no really, just keep viewing it.

Every time the article gets viewed, it is counted & I am paid. That simple.

Writers, & there are plenty out there you bloggers, Associated Content is THE place to submit content to. They pay you upfront based on their evaluation of the article & then you also get paid according to the number of times the article is viewed.

So,...like I said. Click, click, click... I need the money. Just had to replace an AC Unit! Eek! Might have to write an article about that! If I do I will share. :)

Abso-fn-loot-ly <3

So today I am enjoying a nice time with a few girls I can relate too. The fabulous ladies of Sex and the City, courtesy of my DVDs. What is it about that show that can always make me feel like no matter how stupid guys may be, I am just fine right as I am & where I am. Although a bigger city might be nicer to date in! :)

Frankly that's what makes this site... so exciting!!!

The World in 100

We truly have so many, many reasons to be thankful in life.

Just wanted to take a moment to appreciate the little things, that really aren't so little in the grand scheme of things.
