Domestic Witch is a blog I have found within the past few months & simply adore! Although I don't have any kids myself, I enjoy reading how she is homeschooling with an edge. Also the post on depression today was DEAD ON for me.

She is just one of those people who is kind enough to allow us a glimpse inside her unique mind & frankly I adore it. :) I love the way she is "weaving magic into domestic life"!

Cults cut deep

...ok I'm ready to feel better. Unfortunately today doesn't seem to be the day.

I spoke with the ex (ug it hurts to even type that) & we ended up just getting into it. He still claims to have loved & still love me & want my friendship, yet still doesn't see how I can be a part of his life in the future as a girlfriend or wife.

I've heard of cold feet, but his created a whole new polar ice cap. Doesn't help that he has this new church to back up his insecurities. No matter what, it all boils down to he didn't have any real faith in our relationship, our future or me.

I keep wondering what I could have done differently to encourage him or show my support that we can live happily admist the differences. I keep wondering how I can get him to realize what he is doing by ditching his friend, his dreams & retreating into a place where is focus is just on the church & his relationship with god. I know its (& should always be) important to keep that relationship strong, but I don't believe it should be the ONLY relationship.

My belief is love, real love is rare & truly a gift from the almighty - however you perceive it to be. No good can come from destroying it out of fear.

Anyway... enough of my emotional release.... on to today's sites.

Just wanted to take a moment to appreciate the little things, that really aren't so little in the grand scheme of things.

Animal "Rights"?

Ok. I gave everyone a game yesterday, but today I have a heavy heart. This animal bill has me in turmoil to think that so many lives & hearts will be effected.

I am getting the word out anyway I can. I wrote the local news channels to question why there is NOTHING regarding HR669 anywhere on the radar. I have written multiple times to my representative. I continue to urge others to do so. What else can a gal do?

Today I had a member of the local bird club, which meets today, email me this video on a NC specific bill. Its an eye opener.



Its over an hour long, but I think it has changed the way I think.

I am certainly considering myself an animal WELFARE activist rather than for animal rights. I am sicked by what others in the name of animals have done.

NO to HR669

So today's post is a plea for action.

There is a bill in congress right now that could ban any non-native species. This means that if you have pets that wouldn't naturally be found on US soil, you could be fined/imprisoned for buying, selling, breeding or transporting them across state lines!

Tell the fish in my aquarium not to breed because I can't afford the fine?! riiiiiight.

I for one already have emailed my state representative & plan to continue to do so. I love my birds, fish & dog way too much to let this pass. Its just wrong. What next? Ship off all non-native people, we are animals too.

Fight the fears with FACTS.

So today is a time for education.

I challenge you to take a moment to open your mind & read something new on today's website, Religious Tolerance.org.

They take various religions that people practice all over the globe & give the facts as best & objectively as they can in an effort to help us all realize that we are all one people.

Of course everyone has THEIR belief system & I am in no way asking you to rethink that. All I respectfully ask is that we all take a breif moment to learn about another's way of life. Dispel the myths & prejudgements & base our own opinions on facts.

I am amazed at how many religions there are in the world, so I can dare to guess there is one you don't know everything about.

Go ahead. Learn something new. My personal view is that we should all open our minds a bit more to new experiences, just not so much that our brains fall out in the process. There is no shame in keeping your views while listening to others.

& share a smile with someone new for no reason at all other than you both breath the same air & you both woke up to another new day! :)
